Richard S. Sloan is the author of two nonfiction books—The Gift of Strategy and Revenge of America’s Unemployed—as well as a 2020 work of fiction, A Novel Approach to the American Dream, an edifying and entertaining trip through several generations of American politics. His own career spans five decades and a dozen presidential campaigns, with stints on Capitol Hill as Chief of Staff to Ohio Senator Howard Metzenbaum and Michigan Congressman John Dingell, as well as his own campaign against then Ohio Congressman John Kasich, and more than 30 years working for (and with) progressive labor unions.
