Melanie Choukas-Bradley is the award-winning author of several nature books, including Resilience—Connecting With Nature in a Time of Crisis, A Year in Rock Creek Park, City of Trees, The Joy of Forest Bathing, and, most recently, Finding Solace at Theodore Roosevelt Island. She is a naturalist and certified forest therapy guide who leads nature hikes, tree tours, forest bathing walks, and kayak trips in the DC area and beyond. Her stories and op-eds have appeared in The Washington Post and many other publications. During the pandemic Melanie began writing poetry (winning two prizes) and she is currently working on a nature memoir about the Potomac Gorge.

Melanie is hosting two Capitol Hill tree walks on October 20 and November 4.
