Carol McCabe Booker is a former journalist whose beat ran the gamut from civil rights to the Nigerian civil war before she changed careers. A Georgetown law grad, she has represented civil rights, neighborhood preservation, environmental and international broadcasting entities. Book credits include Shocking the Conscience: A Reporter’s Account of the Civil Rights Movement, cowritten with her late husband, acclaimed journalist Simeon Booker; and Alone Atop the Hill: The Autobiography of Alice Dunnigan, Pioneer of the National Black Press (editor). Her latest book, Cove Point on the Chesapeake: The Beacon, the Bay and the Dream, reflects her forty years of “absorbing the wonders of the Chesapeake in all its glory.”
